Wax Proposal

After the last two Ski Classics races in Toblach 3 Zinnen, and in Pontresina La Diagonela offering extreme cold conditions with dry and strive snow, we are now facing extreme warm conditions at Macialonga with wet and soft snow that has been transported and placed out on the competition course. We can expect dirty snow and this will impact the the glide.

What is nice is that the sun seems to shine on all the participants.

When it comes to the waxing strategy we have put together a qualified option to maximise the the glide in the expected conditions. Our approach when using the SNOOW Ski Wax combines a mix of products applied in three layers.

This proposal is FIS approved put together with products from our ECO RACE assortment.

    1. First step - The Base - Fist we apply the ECO RACE PINK Additive X-WET for the advantage of low friction in extremely wet soft condition. We use the iron to melt in the Hot Wax. We let the ski rest and to cool down before scraping and brushing the base of the ski.
    2. Second step - Dirt protection - We rub on the ECO RACE BLACK Additive TRANSFORM. In order to rub on the BLACK paraffin, let the block shortly rest on the standing iron so that you can rub on the paraffin easier. This makes it possible to apply the paraffin over the base of the ski in a and controlled manner. Before using the iron we add the ECO RACE COLD POWDER Additive HARDENER on top of the BLACK paraffin. Now we melt the BLACK and the COLD POWDER together. We let the ski cool down and if you have the chance to have the skis outside for at least 20 minutes you improve the result. Then we scrap off the paraffin's and brush the base with a hard nylon brush to give the surface an nice and shiny finish.
    3. Third step - Add structure - In the wet and soft snow it is important to have good structures on your skis. We recommend to use a straight 1-2 mm roller and combine it with a diagonal structure to release the friction from the wet surface. Give the base a brush after the applying the structure, and if you have use a fine steel brush.
    4. Last step - Liquid Top Finish - before the race apply the ECO RACE LIQUID Orange Top Finish. Spray on the liquid and let the ski rest for 20 minutes, and after that polish the ski carefully with a fleece.

Products used in our proposal:

When getting in to the products and when you start to understand the advantage of the different products in the various conditions, it all starts to become more logic. From "Warm to Cold", From "New snow to Old Snow" (Clean and Dirty snow). From "Low humidity to High Humidity".
